Privacy policy

This policy explains how Hive Pizza and Hive Bakery ("we", "us") handle your personal information. We're a small local business at Shop 5, 33 Zunker Street, Burnett Heads QLD 4670, and we follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

When you order from us, join the loyalty program or get in touch, we may collect:

• your name, phone number and email address
• your order details, such as what you ordered, when, and pickup times
• your loyalty program membership and the Bees you earn and redeem
• anything you tell us when you contact us

Card payments are handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.

Why we collect it

We use your information to:

• take, prepare and hand over your order
• contact you about your order, for example if something is sold out or running late
• run the loyalty program, so you can join, earn Bees and claim rewards
• improve our food and service

We only send you marketing if you've asked for it, and you can opt out at any time.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone except where it's needed to process your payment or order. That includes:

• our payment provider, to process card payments
• delivery partners such as Uber Eats, when you choose to order through them (their own privacy policy also applies)
• the companies that host our ordering and website systems

Some of these providers may store information outside Australia. We only use providers we trust to protect it. We'll also share information if the law requires us to.

We only take pickup orders ourselves. We don't run our own delivery.

This website and cookies

This website doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies, and it doesn't track you. The map on our home and Find us pages is provided by Google Maps, and Google may set its own cookies when it loads. See Google's privacy policy for details.

How we keep it safe

We keep your information on secure systems that only our team can access, and only for as long as we need it for the reasons above or as the law requires. When we no longer need it, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

Seeing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Just contact us. We'll reply within 30 days.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first and we'll try to fix it. If you're still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
